Empires Then and Now

Great empires, such as the Roman and British, were extractive. The empires succeeded, because the value of the resources and wealth extracted from conquered lands exceeded the value of conquest and governance. The reason Rome did not extend its empire east into Germany was not the military prowess of Germanic tribes but Rome’s calculation that the cost of conquest exceeded the value of extractable resources.

The Roman empire failed, because Romans exhausted manpower and resources in civil wars fighting amongst themselves for power. The British empire failed, because the British exhausted themselves fighting Germany in two world wars.

In his book, The Rule of Empires (2010), Timothy H. Parsons replaces the myth of the civilizing empire with the truth of the extractive empire. He describes the successes of the Romans, the Umayyad Caliphate, the Spanish in Peru, Napoleon in Italy, and the British in India and Kenya in extracting resources. To lower the cost of governing Kenya, the British instigated tribal consciousness and invented tribal customs that worked to British advantage.

Parsons does not examine the American empire, but in his introduction to the book he wonders whether America’s empire is really an empire as the Americans don’t seem to get any extractive benefits from it. After eight years of war and attempted occupation of Iraq, all Washington has for its efforts is several trillion dollars of additional debt and no Iraqi oil. After ten years of trillion dollar struggle against the Taliban in Afghanistan, Washington has nothing to show for it except possibly some part of the drug trade that can be used to fund covert CIA operations.

America’s wars are very expensive. Bush and Obama have doubled the national debt, and the American people have no benefits from it. No riches, no bread and circuses flow to Americans from Washington’s wars. So what is it all about?

The answer is that Washington’s empire extracts resources from the American people for the benefit of the few powerful interest groups that rule America. The military-security complex, Wall Street, agri-business and the Israel Lobby use the government to extract resources from Americans to serve their profits and power. The US Constitution has been extracted in the interests of the Security State, and Americans’ incomes have been redirected to the pockets of the 1 percent. That is how the American Empire functions.

The New Empire is different. It happens without achieving conquest. The American military did not conquer Iraq and has been forced out politically by the puppet government that Washington established. There is no victory in Afghanistan, and after a decade the American military does not control the country.

In the New Empire success at war no longer matters. The extraction takes place by being at war. Huge sums of American taxpayers’ money have flowed into the American armaments industries and huge amounts of power into Homeland Security. The American empire works by stripping Americans of wealth and liberty.

This is why the wars cannot end, or if one does end another starts. Remember when Obama came into office and was asked what the US mission was in Afghanistan? He replied that he did not know what the mission was and that the mission needed to be defined.

Obama never defined the mission. He renewed the Afghan war without telling us its purpose. Obama cannot tell Americans that the purpose of the war is to build the power and profit of the military/security complex at the expense of American citizens.

This truth doesn’t mean that the objects of American military aggression have escaped without cost. Large numbers of Muslims have been bombed and murdered and their economies and infrastructure ruined, but not in order to extract resources from them.

It is ironic that under the New Empire the citizens of the empire are extracted of their wealth and liberty in order to extract lives from the targeted foreign populations. Just like the bombed and murdered Muslims, the American people are victims of the American empire.

Nicolas Sarkozy 'received £42 million from Muammar Gaddafi for 2007 election'

Nicolas Sarkozy received £42 million from Muammar Gaddafi in funding for his 2007 presidential election campaign, it was claimed on Monday.

The “terms” for handing over the money were agreed in a meeting between the two men in Libya two years before Mr Sarkozy’s election, documents published by a French investigative website suggest.A memo obtained by the Mediapart site and handed to a judge alleges that the meeting on Oct 6, 2005 resulted in “campaign financing” of “NS [Nicolas Sarkozy]” being “totally paid”.

At the time Mr Sarkozy was France’s interior minister with well-documented ambitions to succeed Jacques Chirac. Political financing laws ban candidates from receiving cash payments above €7,500 (£6,300) but Mediapart claims that €50 million mentioned in the memo were laundered through bank accounts in Panama and Switzerland.

The Swiss account, it is alleged, was opened in the name of the sister of Jean-Francois Copé, the leader of Mr Sarkozy’s ruling UMP party and one of the most active campaigners for his re-election.

The memo claims that “ZT”, believed to be an arms dealer called Ziad Takieddine, known to have close ties with several of Mr Sarkozy’s most loyal aides, was “in charge of arrangements”.
It also mentions “several previous meetings” between Mr Takieddine and Saif-al Islam Gaddafi, Gaddafi’s son and former heir, who last year claimed that Libya had funded Mr Sarkozy’s election.

The Myth of the Fair and Benevolent State: Policing the World

J.G. Vibes
Activist Post

In the string of military conflicts that the United States and NATO have been involved in since the second world war they have always attempted to maintain the high road by claiming that they were responding to some kind of threat, and apparently helping the people that they were bombing.

This approach is largely accepted by the general public who is either too afraid or unable to suspect malicious intentions on the part of their masters. In helping themselves to rationalize the nonsensical things that are happening in their name many people are firm believers in the idea that their government is doing good “policing the world”.

We hear this phrase all of the time, even among people who generally disagree with wars and government policy. People say that “NATO has no right to police the world as they do!”, and those people would be right. However, that statement is overlooking one fundamental premise, that being the fact that NATO’s goals and ambitions have nothing to do with “policing the world”. Just as ancient Rome’s government could care less about “bringing civilization to the savages”, today’s Western governments are not interested in “spreading democracy” or “policing the world”.

This is an extremely important point to make because this idea that they are trying to police the world perpetuates the myth of the fair and benevolent state, and downplays the significant damage that they are doing to people’s lives around the world. If we were being honest with ourselves, we would say that they are trying to take over the world's governments and plunder their natural resources, because that’s what we can see happening around us. War is, and always has been, about conquest for plunder and power. And the many wars that we see taking place around the world today are no different.

Sure, nowadays, the cover story may be that they are “policing the world”, but there is now a mountain of evidence showing that the primary goal of these military actions are to secure natural resources, hijack the local political and financial systems, and establish more military bases to assist in future conquests.

Time after time Western imperial powers vilify foreign dictators who, in many cases, have been directly funded and supported by those same imperial powers in the past. For at least the past century the UK, US and their allies have been shipping billions of dollars worth of weapons to foreign dictators under the guise of “foreign aid”. As a side note, “foreign aid” is another one of those terms that imply a fair and benevolent state, when the reality is far more destructive than the choice of words would lead one to believe.

When hearing “foreign aid” many people get visions of food being air dropped into war-torn areas with starving refugees. However, the reality of the situation is that this money is being shipped directly to these foreign dictators so they can more effectively suppress and put down their own populations -- and usually goes right into the pockets of U.S. arms manufacturers . This message was blatantly clear to the Egyptian people when they revolted against their government and had tear gas canisters shot at them that were marked with “made in the USA” labels.

Egypt is certainly not alone. Nearly every dictator that the US and NATO have gone to war with has been one of their very own creations. The volatile situation in the Middle East has without a doubt been fomented by Western powers funding dictators through tax-funded “foreign aid”. Saddam Hussein in Iraq was kept in power thanks to Western support until he was no longer useful and then became a target. Years after the invasion WikiLeaks cables showed that oil contracts were one of the primary motivations behind attacking Iraq. So again we see natural resources playing a major role.

This is the same way that Osama Bin Laden was used as a hired mercenary to fight against the Soviets as a proxy in the Cold War, and then later became a target when the elite needed a new excuse to invade the Middle East. Along with these very high-profile cases there have been ongoing covert operations in dozens of countries worldwide, many of which are exposed by CIA whistleblower John Perkins in his book Confessions of an Economic Hit Man.

If all of the facts, confessions and source documents weren’t enough to show that the US and NATO are intent on conquering the world, as opposed to policing it, then this week’s grisly massacre in Afghanistan surely gives us a more animated picture of what the military is really there to do.

The government is of course telling us that these are just “a few bad apples,” as if the very reason that they were over there was not to commit mass murder. These young and misguided souls are strapped with weapons, trained to kill and sent into a territory filled with people who they have been taught to despise. Isn’t this sort of violent and irrational behavior to be expected under those conditions? This is obviously unacceptable behavior, but isn't war and all that comes with it unacceptable behavior to begin with?

The first step towards ridding our world of all this violence is seeing it for what it is and calling it what it is out loud. Using softer language to describe the horrors that are going on around us is actually one of the many ways in which we are being prevented from actually addressing these problems and bringing about a more peaceful existence. Given that today’s governments and all governments throughout history have such a tradition of mass murder and human rights violations, we should always be extremely suspicious whenever anyone in power claims to be doing something noble, especially when military force is involved.

‘Syria Danny’ Tours US Begging For Military Intervention

Who is paying for Dayem’s propaganda?
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Danny Abdul Dayem, the establishment media’s poster child for a western military intervention in Syria, is touring America begging for a US-led assault on his homeland, despite being exposed as having faked war propaganda for the purposes of a CNN interview.

Although denying he is in the pay of CNN or any government, Dayem has been flying back and forth between Syria and the United Kingdom for months, and he has now arrived in America to begin a series of visits to Islamic centers to advocate a NATO bombardment to oust President Bashar Al-Assad.
“Everyone is saying we sympathize with you, we feel sorry. I know they do, [but] I need the government to move. We need military intervention. We need someone to save lives there,” Dayem told Here & Now during an event at the Boston Cultural Center.
Convoluted rhetoric about military interventions to save lives (which didn’t work out too well for Libya), has become a staple of Dayem’s corporate media patter.

Asked by CNN if the United States should invade Syria during a recent interview, Danny responded, “They can help, we’ll take help from anyone, Israel, we don’t care…this regime needs to be threatened, it needs to be attacked,” adding that the only way to stop Assad would be “an attack, an army attack, a no fly zone, that the UN hit all our air bases.”

Such talk has provoked suspicions that Dayem is working as an operative for western intelligence, and his antics in apparently staging propaganda for CNN to legitimize claims that Assad’s forces are indiscriminately killing innocent civilians has only deepened them.
As we reported last week, while waiting to make an appearance on 360 With Anderson Cooper, Dayem is heard preparing coordinated gunfire to make it appear as if he is in a warzone.

“Well, let the gunfire sound then,” he states, before subsequently asking someone off camera, “Did you tell him to get the gunfire ready?” An explosion is heard soon after, but Danny doesn’t even flinch.

During the original interview, Dayem claims that he is within 400 meters of where shelling by government forces is taking place, but during a subsequent interview with Cooper, Dayem states that the shelling was taking place 15 kilometers away in a different city.

On his official Twitter page, Dayem then invented a third explanation for his apparent efforts to coordinate fake gunfire, bizarrely claiming, “This was camera tricks by the Assad regime helped by Russians.”

Dayem’s Twitter account has now been suspended, preventing people from documenting the fact that ‘Syria Danny’ has difficulty in keeping his story straight from one media appearance to the next.

The interview with Cooper in which the two attempted to dismiss growing awareness of the likelihood that Dayem is an intelligence operative whose role is to grease the propaganda skids for a military intervention was noteworthy only for that fact that it failed to address any of the charges against Dayem and in fact only generated further suspicion.

So start all intervention by the United States and Great Britain and NATO. First, students are taught in universities. They put their beliefs. Then they give money and say - what to do and how to provoke a civil war. And these idiots are doing. And then ask for bombs to his people! Excellent new political technology of the colonial wars

Debt

Debt always makes you even poorer in the long run.

America is losing wealth far faster than any other nation on earth is. In fact, since the mid-1970s there has been a transfer of wealth of almost 8 trillion dollars from the United States to the rest of the world. Sadly, most Americans have no idea what is happening. Most of them are completely unaware that America is being transformed from a wealthy nation into a poor nation at breathtaking speed. Most Americans just assume that America will always have the largest economy on earth and will always be the wealthiest nation on the globe. Unfortunately, just because something was true in the past does not mean that it will be true in the future. Right now, the United States is bleeding wealth at a pace that is almost unimaginable. Every single month, tens of billions of dollars of wealth is permanently transferred from the American people to the rest of the world. That means that the overall economic pie is shrinking. While the rich and the poor are busy fighting over the distribution of wealth in this country, the size of the pie that they are dividing up is continually getting smaller. America is poorer than it was last month, and next month it will be even poorer. If this continues, it will result in a complete and total economic nightmare.

Let’s break this down to a real simple example. Imagine that you are playing a game with a whole bunch of people, and you have been chosen to play the role of the United States. So you go stand on a giant map of the United States and you are given much more money than anyone else in the game. However, with each turn 50 billion dollars is taken out of your pile of money and is given to the other players.

What is going to happen eventually?
Yes, that is right – you are going to run out of money at some point.
In order to continue playing you will need to borrow more money from the other players or you will need to print up some more money.
Does that sound familiar?
In January, the U.S. trade deficit with the rest of the world hit 52.6 billion dollars.

Strategy of America

One strategy of America is to provoke Civil War. This is a proxy war. So it was in Libya, now in Syria. Both are U.S. support for armed groups to destabilize the situation in the country. Russia, Arab League Agree Plan on Syria

CAIRO, March 10 (RIA Novosti)

Russia and the Arab League have negotiated a plan to settle the bloody political conflict in Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday.
The plan proposes an end to violence by all sides, monitoring of the situation in Syria, provision of humanitarian aid to all Syrians, support for the UN special envoy Kofi Annan's mission in the country and abstention from external interference in Syrian domestic affairs, Lavrov said after a meeting with his colleagues from the Arab League in Cairo.
“We think these five steps will be crucial. They are addressed to all parties in Syria,” Lavrov said.

Russia is supporting dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition, he said, and criticized Western countries for supporting the opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Lavrov also praised the United Nations plans to monitor the situation in Syria, where some 7,500 have been killed in a year-long conflict between Assad and his opponents according to UN estimates.

Kofi Annan, a former UN Secretary-General, was appointed last month as special envoy to Syria for both the UN and the Arab League.
Annan met with Assad in Damascus on Saturday, saying he wanted to negotiate a ceasefire between the opposition and the government forces and organize humanitarian help for regions affected by the fighting.

Assad blamed “armed terrorist groups” for the continuing bloodshed during the talks, reiterating the stance taken by his government since the fighting began in the country.
“Syria is ready to support any honest effort to solve the situation,” Assad said.

Goodbye, First Amendment: ‘Trespass Bill’ will make protest illegal

Just when you thought the government couldn’t ruin the First Amendment any further: The House of Representatives approved a bill on Monday that outlaws protests in instances where some government officials are nearby, whether or not you even know it.

The US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347 late Monday, a bill which is being dubbed the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011. In the bill, Congress officially makes it illegal to trespass on the grounds of the White House, which, on the surface, seems not just harmless and necessary, but somewhat shocking that such a rule isn’t already on the books. The wording in the bill, however, extends to allow the government to go after much more than tourists that transverse the wrought iron White House fence.

Under the act, the government is also given the power to bring charges against Americans engaged in political protest anywhere in the country.

Under current law, White House trespassers are prosecuted under a local ordinance, a Washington, DC legislation that can bring misdemeanor charges for anyone trying to get close to the president without authorization. Under H.R. 347, a federal law will formally be applied to such instances, but will also allow the government to bring charges to protesters, demonstrators and activists at political events and other outings across America.
The new legislation allows prosecutors to charge anyone who enters a building without permission or with the intent to disrupt a government function with a federal offense if Secret Service is on the scene, but the law stretches to include not just the president’s palatial Pennsylvania Avenue home. Under the law, any building or grounds where the president is visiting — even temporarily — is covered, as is any building or grounds “restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance."

It’s not just the president who would be spared from protesters, either.

Covered under the bill is any person protected by the Secret Service. Although such protection isn’t extended to just everybody, making it a federal offense to even accidently disrupt an event attended by a person with such status essentially crushes whatever currently remains of the right to assemble and peacefully protest.

Hours after the act passed, presidential candidate Rick Santorum was granted Secret Service protection. For the American protester, this indeed means that glitter-bombing the former Pennsylvania senator is officially a very big no-no, but it doesn’t stop with just him. Santorum’s coverage under the Secret Service began on Tuesday, but fellow GOP hopeful Mitt Romney has already been receiving such security. A campaign aide who asked not to be identified confirmed last week to CBS News that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has sought Secret Service protection as well. Even former contender Herman Cain received the armed protection treatment when he was still in the running for the Republican Party nod.

In the text of the act, the law is allowed to be used against anyone who knowingly enters or remains in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so, but those grounds are considered any area where someone — rather it’s President Obama, Senator Santorum or Governor Romney — will be temporarily visiting, whether or not the public is even made aware. Entering such a facility is thus outlawed, as is disrupting the orderly conduct of “official functions,” engaging in disorderly conduct “within such proximity to” the event or acting violent to anyone, anywhere near the premises. Under that verbiage, that means a peaceful protest outside a candidate’s concession speech would be a federal offense, but those occurrences covered as special event of national significance don’t just stop there, either. And neither does the list of covered persons that receive protection.

Outside of the current presidential race, the Secret Service is responsible for guarding an array of politicians, even those from outside America. George W Bush is granted protection until ten years after his administration ended, or 2019, and every living president before him is eligible for life-time, federally funded coverage. Visiting heads of state are extended an offer too, and the events sanctioned as those of national significance — a decision that is left up to the US Department of Homeland Security — extends to more than the obvious. While presidential inaugurations and meeting of foreign dignitaries are awarded the title, nearly three dozen events in all have been considered a National Special Security Event (NSSE) since the term was created under President Clinton. Among past events on the DHS-sanctioned NSSE list are Super Bowl XXXVI, the funerals of Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, most State of the Union addresses and the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

With Secret Service protection awarded to visiting dignitaries, this also means, for instance, that the federal government could consider a demonstration against any foreign president on American soil as a violation of federal law, as long as it could be considered disruptive to whatever function is occurring.

When thousands of protesters are expected to descend on Chicago this spring for the 2012 G8 and NATO summits, they will also be approaching the grounds of a National Special Security Event. That means disruptive activity, to whichever court has to consider it, will be a federal offense under the act.
And don’t forget if you intend on fighting such charges, you might not be able to rely on evidence of your own. In the state of Illinois, videotaping the police, under current law, brings criminals charges. Don’t fret. It’s not like the country will really try to enforce it — right?

On the bright side, does this mean that the law could apply to law enforcement officers reprimanded for using excessive force on protesters at political events? Probably. Of course, some fear that the act is being created just to keep those demonstrations from ever occuring, and given the vague language on par with the loose definition of a “terrorist” under the NDAA, if passed this act is expected to do a lot more harm to the First Amendment than good.

United States Representative Justin Amash (MI-03) was one of only three lawmakers to vote against the act when it appeared in the House late Monday. Explaining his take on the act through his official Facebook account on Tuesday, Rep. Amash writes, “The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it's illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it's illegal.”

“Some government officials may need extraordinary protection to ensure their safety. But criminalizing legitimate First Amendment activity — even if that activity is annoying to those government officials — violates our rights,” adds the representative.

Now that the act has overwhelmingly made it through the House, the next set of hands to sift through its pages could very well be President Barack Obama; the US Senate had already passed the bill back on February 6. Less than two months ago, the president approved the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, essentially suspending habeas corpus from American citizens. Could the next order out of the Executive Branch be revoking some of the Bill of Rights? Only if you consider the part about being able to assemble a staple of the First Amendment, really. Don’t worry, though. Obama was, after all, a constitutional law professor. When he signed the NDAA on December 31, he accompanied his signature with a signing statement that let Americans know that, just because he authorized the indefinite detention of Americans didn’t mean he thought it was right.

Should President Obama suspend the right to assemble, Americans might expect another apology to accompany it in which the commander-in-chief condemns the very act he authorizes. If you disagree with such a decision, however, don’t take it to the White House. Sixteen-hundred Pennsylvania Avenue and the vicinity is, of course, covered under this act.

US Media Rigged Ahead of Russian Elections

Rigged media already crying foul over elections yet to take place.
Tony Cartalucci
Prisonplanet.com
March 2, 2012
In the spirit of recognizing mobs of terrorists as legitimate national governments before a sovereign nation’s true leadership is murdered by US-led NATO operations, as was the case in Libya, the Western media is already decrying Russia’s upcoming elections as “rigged” before they’ve even taken place. Leading the preemptive media coverage is Foreign Policy (FP) magazine featuring an article by Freedom House president David Kramer and Freedom House vice president, Christopher Walker.
The FP piece titled, “The Kremlin’s Big Gamble: Can Vladimir Putin’s simulated democracy survive another rigged election?” in title alone already implies that the elections, which polls have long indicated Putin is overwhelmingly expected to win, will be “rigged.” This in and of itself is “rigged” coverage – reporting conclusions to events that have yet to unfold.
Kramer’s piece is particularly ironic, because the first round of “rigged election” calls were made last December by “activists” funded by the US State Department through the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), of which Freedom House is a subsidiary.
In December 2011′s “US Caught Meddling in Russian Elections,”US National Endowment for Democracy (NED) funded GOLOS was noted as being the key “observer” cited across Western media in an attempt to portray the Russian elections as “stolen.” GOLOS owes its existence to the US government and in turn the banking oligarchs of Wall Street and London who have been trying in vain to dislodge Russia’s Vladimir Putin from power for years.

Image: A screenshot from NED’s official website, listing GOLOS as a recipient of NED funding, which in turn is provided by the US State Department. Despite this overt conflict of interest – especially with NED subsidiary International Republican Institute chairman John McCain openly threatening Russia with “Arab Spring” unrest, “journalists” and Freedom House alike continue citing them as “independent” election monitors. (click image to enlarge)
….
Kramer in his piece would cite this gaggle of US-funded NGOs and the opposition parties they support as a “clear indicator of the desire for change.” Kramer even shamelessly mentions GOLOS by name, claiming they are “the sole independent Russian election-monitoring organization” despite the fact that they are clearly not independent, being funded proxies of the US State Department.

Apparently pointing this out, Kramer argues, is defined as a “smear campaign.” Kramer then goes on to cite his own organization’s dubious, politically motivated work as evidence against how “undemocratic” Russia is before concluding that “evidence of rigging” will lead to a rejection of the results and justification for instability similar to what was seen across the US-manufactured “Arab Spring.” It should be noted that Freedom House was cited by even theNew York Times as being a sponsor of the “Arab Spring” unrest.
And when considering such “evidence of rigging,” already, Russian authorities are investigating claims of faked-vote rigging videos, the type used by US-funded GOLOS in conjunction with the Western media to incite unrest in Russia last December. With FP’s article, we see that the Western media has already determined how Russia’s elections will unfold, creating the pretext in the minds of impressionable viewers to justify the unrest the US is undoubtedly planning.
It is important to keep in mind Freedom House president David Kramer’s words, knowing that both the National Endowment for Democracy and Freedom House are self-serving frauds, when listening to these very same talking points regurgitated by the Western media during the elections this coming Sunday.

Noam Chomsky - "10 strategies of manipulation" by the media

Renowned critic and always MIT linguist Noam Chomsky, one of the classic voices of
intellectual dissent in the last decade, has compiled a list of the ten most common and
effective strategies resorted to by the agendas “hidden” to establish a manipulation of the
population through the media.
Historically the media have proven highly efficient to mold public opinion. Thanks to the media
paraphernalia and propaganda, have been created or destroyed social movements, justified
wars, tempered financial crisis, spurred on some other ideological currents, and even given
the phenomenon of media as producers of reality within the collective psyche.
But how to detect the most common strategies for understanding these psychosocial tools
which, surely, we participate? Fortunately Chomsky has been given the task of synthesizing
and expose these practices, some more obvious and more sophisticated, but apparently all
equally effective and, from a certain point of view, demeaning. Encourage stupidity, promote a
sense of guilt, promote distraction, or construct artificial problems and then magically, solve
them, are just some of these tactics.

1. The strategy of distraction
The primary element of social control is the strategy of distraction which is to divert public
attention from important issues and changes determined by the political and economic elites,
by the technique of flood or flooding continuous distractions and insignificant information.
distraction strategy is also essential to prevent the public interest in the essential knowledge
in the area of the science, economics, psychology, neurobiology and cybernetics.
“Maintaining public attention diverted away from the real social problems, captivated by
matters of no real importance. Keep the public busy, busy, busy, no time to think, back to
farm and other animals (quote from text Silent Weapons for Quiet War ).”

2. Create problems, then offer solutions

This method is also called “problem -reaction- solution. “It creates a problem, a “situation”
referred to cause some reaction in the audience, so this is the principal of the steps that you
want to accept. For example: let it unfold and intensify urban violence, or arrange for bloody
attacks in order that the public is the applicant‟s security laws and policies to the detriment of
freedom. Or: create an economic crisis to accept as a necessary evil retreat of social rights
and the dismantling of public services.

3. The gradual strategy

acceptance to an unacceptable degree, just apply it gradually, dropper, for consecutive years.
That is how they radically new socioeconomic conditions ( neoliberalism ) were imposed
during the 1980s and 1990s: the minimal state, privatization, precariousness, flexibility,
massive unemployment, wages, and do not guarantee a decent income, so many changes
that have brought about a revolution if they had been applied once.

4. The strategy of deferring

Another way to accept an unpopular decision is to present it as “painful and necessary”,
gaining public acceptance, at the time for future application. It is easier to accept that a future
sacrifice of immediate slaughter. First, because the effort is not used immediately. Then,
because the public, masses, is always the tendency to expect naively that “everything will be
better tomorrow” and that the sacrifice required may be avoided. This gives the public more
time to get used to the idea of change and accept it with resignation when the time comes.

5. Go to the public as a little child

Most of the advertising to the general public uses speech, argument, people and particularly children‟s intonation, often close to the weakness, as if the viewer were a little child or a

desires, fears and anxieties , compulsions, or induce behaviors …

7. Keep the public in ignorance and mediocrity

Making the public incapable of understanding the technologies and methods used to control

upper classes is and remains impossible to attain for the lower classes (See „ Silent Weapons
for Quiet War ).”

8. To encourage the public to be complacent with mediocrity

Promote the public to believe that the fact is fashionable to be stupid, vulgar and
uneducated…

9. Self-blame Strengthen

To let individual blame for their misfortune, because of the failure of their intelligence, their
abilities, or their efforts. So, instead of rebelling against the economic system, the individual
autodesvalida and guilt, which creates a depression, one of whose effects is to inhibit its
action. And, without action, there is no revolution!

10. Getting to know the individuals better than they know themselves

Over the past 50 years, advances of accelerated science has generated a growing gap
between public knowledge and those owned and operated by dominant elites. Thanks to
biology, neurobiology and applied psychology, the “system” has enjoyed a sophisticated
understanding of human beings, both physically and psychologically. The system has gotten
