Kiev's Junta and parallel og history

It is now evident that the Kiev junta and its handlers in the West are treating the spontaneous resistance of the people in Ukraine to the coup and its fascism as a counterinsurgency problem. At this stage, their objective is to demobilize it (hence the emphasis on "deescalation" in the Geneva Agreements from last Thursday), to contain it, behead it (by arresting as many leaders as possible) and by intimidating the protest with deadly attacks and terror reserved for streets and apartments. For the junta and its handlers, the key is to survive till the "elections" (May 25) and declare one of its oligarchs (most likely Poroshenko) the winner so that the junta, the US, the EU, NATO, and Western media can claim the "legitimizing" effect of the fake elections. In the meantime, in places under its control, the regime is carrying out so-called lustration--a weird term already used in Eastern Europe after 1989. It is basically a euphemism for purges and sanctions against employment. Originally, lustration was a religious term for cleaning bloodguilt or pollution incurred, for example, by contact with a corpse, which stood here for the old regime and people associated with it. The methods traditionally varied from mild to very harsh. In the case of Ukraine in the hands of the oligarchs who now combined their power with avowed fascists, lustration is to be seen as putting the Nuremberg Principles in reverse. Among one of the pillars of the post-WWII order in Europe was supposed to be so-called denazification, which was, however, very quickly abandoned in those parts of Germany that became Western Germany. Step by step putting some of the results of World War II in reverse was already a process that was systematically launched by the US and its allies vis-a-vis the most ardent anti-fascist people in the Balkans--the Serbs. The other (and closely related) problem of the Serbs was that they were also the most pro-Russian people in the Balkans (at times, the Bulgarians claimed this honor, but somehow they could not quite deliver). The gradual and somewhat guarded reversal of the Nuremberg Principles also took off in Ukraine from the moment of its independence, that is, from the moment of a construction of its new "nationhood" on the basis of ethnic nationalism defined in the Banderite spirit and built on hate for Russia, the Russians, and the Russian language. In other words, that's that sort of "nationalism" that often fuels genocide and cleansing. Under Ukrainian President Victor Yuschenko, who was ushered with Julia Tymoshenko into power by the US-engineered Orange Revolution, the reversal of the movement of Western civilization from fascism actually quite few leaps and bounds. When it comes to Ukraine, the actions of the outgoing U.S-backed, “democratic” president Viktor Yushchenko provide an illuminating case in point. In May 2007, Yushchenko awarded Roman Shukhevych with the title “Hero of Ukraine.” Besides being anti-Russian and anti-communist, Shukhevych also held the SS rank of Hauptsturmfuhrer in World War II, bestowed on him by the German Nazi regime. On January 22, a few days before leaving the office of President, Yushchenko also gave the Hero of Ukraine title to Stepan Bandera. Bandera was the leader of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) created in 1942 by anti-Russian and anti-communist Ukranian nationalists under the aegis of the Nazi occupiers. Under Yushchenko and his light of “hope,” streets in several cities were named after Bandera, and a monument was erected in Lvov. In December 2010, the New York Times reported the release of the U.S. National Archives’ study, Hitler’s Shadow: Nazi War Criminals, U.S. Intelligence, and the Cold War based on a sampling of newly declassified 1,100 C.I.A files and 1.2 million Army counterintelligence files. The documents identify Bandera’s troopers as “a militant fascist organization.” On July 6, 1941, they adopted a decision that the Jews “have to be treated harshly…. We must finish them off…. Regarding the Jews, we will adopt any methods that lead to their destruction.” Citing from the declassified documents, the report further says:

“When the Bandera gangs seize a Jew, they consider it a prize catch. The ordinary Ukrainians feel the same way…. they all want to participate in the heroic act of killing a Jew. They literally slash Jews to pieces with their machetes … Bandera men … are not discriminating about who they kill; they are gunning down the populations of entire villages.… Since there are hardly any Jews left to kill, the Bandera gangs have turned on the Poles. They are literally hacking Poles to pieces. Every day … you can see the bodies of Poles, with wires around their necks, floating down the river Bug.” On a single day, July 11, 1943, the UPA attacked some 80 localities killing perhaps 10,000 Poles.

After the War, the CIA hired Bandera and charged him with numerous tasks—including terrorism. Citing CIA’s own documents, the National Archives’ report explains:
Bandera intended to create a dictatorship in exile … According to U.S. Army CIC observers, the Foreign Section OUN routinely used intimidation and even terror against political enemies. CIC reports listed Bandera as “extremely dangerous” because he was willing to use violence against Ukrainian rivals in Germany. He also continued terror tactics against anti-Banderist Ukrainian leaders in Western Europe. One source said in September 1947 that Banderists were recruiting more members in DP camps, their main recruiter being Anton Eichner, a former SS officer. … By August 1947 Banderists were represented in every Ukrainian DP camp in the U.S. zone as well as in the British and French zones. … He was “constantly en route, frequently in disguise,” with bodyguards ready to “do away with any person who may be dangerous to [Bandera] or his party.” … As for Banderist activities before and during the war, U.S. intelligence officials seemed to understand little beyond Bandera’s implication in the Pierecki assassination. They understood nothing of the Banderist role in ethnic cleansing during the war. … In April 1951 CIA officials tried to convince MI6 to pull support from Bandera. MI6 refused. They thought that Bandera could run his agents without British support, and MI6 were “seeking progressively to assume control of Bandera’s lines.” The British also thought that the CIA underestimated Bandera’s importance. … British operations through Bandera expanded. … Bandera was, according to his handlers, “a professional underground worker with a terrorist background and ruthless notions about the rules of the game…. A bandit type if you like, with a burning patriotism, which provides an ethical background and a justification for his banditry. No better and no worse than others of his kind….” The BND, the West German intelligence service under former Wehrmacht Gen. Reinhard Gehlen, formed a new relationship with Bandera. "It was a natural union. … Bandera’s personal contact in West German intelligence was Heinz Danko Herre, Gehlen’s old deputy in Fremde Heere Ost who had worked with the Gen. Andrei Vlassov’s army of Russian émigrés and former prisoners in the last days of the war and was now Gehlen’s closest adviser. … Herre, reported the CIA base in Munich is aware of Bandera’s earlier reputation … [Herre] also feels that, in principle, Bandera has more to offer operationally than most if not all other Russian (sic) émigré groups in the West today. … He offered to keep CIA fully informed as to Bandera’s activities in return for a favor. Bandera had been trying to obtain a U.S. visa since 1955 in order to meet with Ukrainian supporters in the United States and to meet with State Department and CIA officials. Herre thought that a visa procured with West German help would improve his own relationship with Bandera. CIA officials in Munich actually recommended the visa in October 1959. But on October 15, 1959, only 10 days after the CIA Munich base made the request, a KGB assassin named Bogdan Stashinskiy murdered Bandera with a special gun …" The coup of February 21-22 under the auspices of the US and the EU and its three "guarantors" in the form of Germany, Poland, and France then begot a reversal of World War II and Nuremberg on a new massive scale. The new oligarchic dictatorship then introduced new systemic lustration of the government and society as one of its very first acts. Nazification of Ukraine. In a country in which nearly 7 million were killed in the Great Patriotic War, with 5,2 million of the dead from the civilian population. These 7 million people were 16% of Ukraine's population then. Who would have thought that such a country would be the one where fascism ought to be reintroduced? Some in Galicia clearly did. So did some of those in Ukraine who turned out oligarchs-billionaires when an elementary teacher is paid an equivalent of $100 a month. And so did some in Washington D.C. and Brussels. But since the junta is also an enterprise of "stealing oligarchs" (see Obama's recent speech in the Hague), these oligarchs are now offering $300 for information that could harm people's antifascist resistance and $10,000 for a head of a pro-Russian rebel.
